Yusef and the President

By. Jean E. Caldwell

Yusef and the President is a heart-warming story about a regular little boy, who just happens to have a "different" name.  The day that Yusef experiences bullying, sadness, and loneliness, because of his name, would change the course of his young life...forever.

About the Author

Jean E. Caldwell resides in Concord, NC, in the Shankletown-Sidestown Community, where she was born and raised.  She visited Zimbabwe, Africa in 2012 – the second of three visits she has made to this BEAUFITUL country – and was inspired to write “Yusef and The President” upon Barack H. Obama’s re-election in November of that year.  (Yes, she voted for him via absentee ballot prior to leaving for her trip!)
She graduated from Northwest Cabarrus High School in 1970.  Thirty-three years later, she graduated from Barber-Scotia College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and finished at the top of her class.
“Yusef and The President” is the first of several children’s books she has written for publication.  She also thoroughly enjoys being a book editor, a hobby she believes stems from having served her senior year as editor of the editorial staff for her high school newspaper.

Always remember that you are more than enough, just as you are...

Jean E. Caldwell
